(November 2004)
As we continue to move forward on this home theatre project, the first
thing that we
focus on is sound isolation. We are working on two aspects, one is
to keep any external noise
from entering the room, and the second is to isolate sound from inside
the theatre. This is accomplished by preventing sound penetration
through the existing walls into other living
spaces of the residence. In this project we will not only install
insulation and achieve an
R Value well beyond what is required, but we will incorporate many
sound stopping
technologies in the ceiling, walls, doors, and the floor. Stay tuned
to see how we will have
the entire air handling system redesigned to be much more quiet,
while
at the same time increasing efficiency as well.

(July 2004)
The homeowners
of this house just newly discovered a storage area
which we are going to convert into a dedicated home theater room,
including a kitchenette and bathroom as well. This area is 13' x 37',
and is one of our current projects that we are working on.
